BN 6602


BN F45 6602 was built by EMD as GN 429 in May of 1969. It was the third unit of a fourteen unit order numbered 427-440. It was delivered in Big Sky Blue colors and was immediately placed into transcontinental service being assigned to Havre, MT with the other F45's. I noted GN 429 while riding a GN excursion train to Leavenworth, WA on 2-1-70 as we passed by the Interbay engine facility. It was middle unit of three F45's 431/429/433.

After the 1970 BN merger the GN 429 was renumbered to BN 6602 and remained assigned to Havre, MT. This eBay purchased slide shows the 6602 still in Big Sky Blue at Lincoln, NE 8-28-70:

BN retired the 6602 in June of 1984 and it was sold for scrap.
