BN 3028
BN GP40 3028 was built as CB&Q 628 in February of 1968. After the March 1970 BN merger the CB&Q 628 was renumbered to BN 3028.and assigned to Clyde, IL on the Chicago region. The few photos I could find of the 3028 were all on the eastern end of the BN system. I purchased one slide of the 3028 on eBay taken in La Crosse, WI 10-18-72.

The BN 3028 was sent to MK and rebuilt to GP40M 3506 in September 1988. I photographed the 3506 in the Seattle area numerous times in the 1990's.
First was on 8-30-92 leading a southbound garbage train out of Seattle.

And a roster shot of the 3506 at Argo, WA 8-30-92.

Almost exactly three year later on 8-31-95 I photographed the 3506 again at Argo headed north towards downtown Seattle.

After the 1996 BNSF merger the 3506 became BNSF 3005 in April of 1998.
I photographed the BNSF 3005 at Superior, MT on the MRL 7-10-00 and the GP40M was still in BN green paint.

Sometime between 2003 and 2004 the 3005 was painted into BNSF's H1 paint scheme. The last photos of the 3005 I could find show it in Illinois back in 2019, no photos of the 3005 since.
