BN 2525
BN GP35 2525 was built as the CB&Q 979 in December of 1963. CB&Q purchased 21 GP35's total and they were numbered 978-999.
rrpicturearchives has a few photos of the CB&Q 979 but I thought that this one was very good:
After the March 3, 1970 BN merger the CB&Q 979 was renumbered BN 2525. Initially it was assigned to Superior, WI but later moved to Lincoln, NE.
I first saw the BN 2525 eight years after the merger on 5-16-78 on southbound train #139 leaving Seattle with units 2089/2500/4240/2505/2525 (GP38-2/GP35/C424/GP35/GP35)
Two months later I photographed the 2525 at Interbay on 7-20-78.
My next photo of the 2525 was taken 8-28-82, again at Interbay but since the last photo "Vancouver, WA" is marked on the front side sill to note where it was based for maintenance at that time.
My third and final photo shows the other side of the 2525 at Skykomish, WA being used in Stevens Pass helper service 10-17-79.
In December 1989 BN 2525 was rebuilt by EMD to GP39E 2932. I never saw or photographed the BN 2932 and most of the photos of it on rrpicturearches show it in Wyoming and Nebraska:
After the 1996 BNSF merger the BN 2932 was renumbered BNSF 2932 in May 2002 and again it has continued to stay away from the west coast. The last photos of the BNSF 2932 from around a year ago show it still in BN whieface paint. It is currently classed as a GP39-2R:
