BN 6516
BN SD45 6516 was built by EMD in July of 1971.
It was part of a group of new SD45's numbered 6498-6542 and all were assigned to Havre, MT for use between Seattle/Portland and Chicago.
I got my first photo of the 6516 on 12-26-78 at Interbay, WA after arriving on a westbound off Stevens Pass with C&S 905/1776/2097/6516 (SD40-2/U30C/GP38-2/SD45)
I photographed the 6516 one more time at Winton, WA on the ex-GN Stevens Pass line 10-5-80 in a helper set.
The 6516 was retired by the BN in June of 1986 lasting just 15 years on the BN roster. It was later sold to NHL 6510 and after that MK 9530. Here is a photo of it from rrpicturearchives showing it as the MKCX 9530 in 1994:
That is the last known photo of the former BN 6516.
