BN 7015

BN SD40-2 7015 was built by EMD in December of 1977. It was one of 29 SD40-2's in the order numbered 7000-7028. Though not purchased for coal service that was where these SD40-2's primarily worked at the start.

First time I saw the 7015 was on 4-1-80 at Interbay, WA north of Seattle. BN 7015/8027/5711/6822 (SD40-2/SD40-2/U33C/SD40-2)

My first photo of the 7015 did not come until after the BNSF merger when I shot it on a S-CHCTAC with units BNSF 4535/BN 7015/BN 7065/BNSF 6918/BN 7830 (C44-9W/4 SD40-2's) on 4-3-00.

In March 2002 the BN 7015 was relettered BNSF 7015 but kept the BN green paint. The last photo I could find of the BNSF 7015 was from 2006 and sometime after that BNSF retired the 7015 and it went to HLCX 7015, still in BN green. The last photo of the 7015 was taken in Mt Vernon, IL in 2013, probably not a good sign. If I get any new info on the disposition of the 7015 I will post it here.
