BN 2094

BN 2094 is an EMD built GP38-2 built in November 1974. It was one of a group of new GP38-2's numbered 2088-2109.

A small group of the new GP38-2's were assigned to Minneapolis after delivery, those being the 2088-2096 which explains why I did not see the 2094 for the first time until 4-8-78. On that date the 2094 was with the 2096 at Interbay in the engine facility.

On 4-27-91 I photographed the 2094 leading a westbound Ravensdale, WA coal train at Henry's, WA. This was the only part of the NP Stampede Pass route still in service the time between Auburn and Ellensburg. The coal picked up at Ravensdale was locally mined and sent west in 30 car trains to be combined into a 90 train to be routed up to Vancouver, BC for overseas shipment.

On 6-24-95 I caught the 2094 leaded southbound stack train #7 with units 2094/6323/6334 (GP38-2/SD40/SD40-2) past Tukwila, WA on the Seattle-Portland main line.

After the 1996 BNSF merger the 2094 was repainted into BNSF's H1 orange and green in February of 1997. Ten years later on 3-26-07 I photographed the 2094 at South Seattle, WA.

The 2094 was at Pasco, WA where I roster shot it again on 6-2-13.

On 3-22-16 the 2094 was at Renton, WA delivering Boeing 737's to the Boeing plant for assembly. Note that the 2094 still has class lights and they are lit in this photo.

And one last photo of the 2094 at Kent, WA 11-2-19 on the southbound H-EVELVJ led by 563/2094/268 (B40-8/GP38-2/SD75M). Note the added equipment on the roof. I believe that this is for PTC.

I have not seen the 2094 since 2019 and there are no other photos of it online since either so no current 2021 update is available..
