BN 5563


BN C30-7 5563 was built by GE in October 1978. It was part of a group of 21 new C30-7's numbered 5545-5566 that went initially into coal service assigned to Alliance, NE.

Coal service is where I photographed the BN 5563 leading.an eastbound with C30-7's 5563/5005/5046 at Seward, NE 7-2-82.

The 5563 was later painted BN's whiteface scheme sometime before the BNSF merger as seen in this photo of the 5563 on rrpicturearchives:

The 5563 lasted on the BNSF roster until retired in January 2002. It was then sold to ALL and shipped south to Brazil for service in South America. It was painted ALL's red and numbered 9212. Here is a great photo of the 9212 from 2010, also found on rrpicturearchives:

That was 11 years ago. No current info on the C30-7 is available.
