BN 4106

BN B30-7A 4106 was built in October of 1983 by GE as part of a group numbered 4053-4119. All of the cabless GE's were assigned to transcontinental train service mixed in with BN's SD40-2's SD45's and F45's. While used on most parts of the BN system the 3000HP GE's could be found mainly on the ex-GN highline.

I managed just one roster photo of the 4106 at Argo, WA south of Seattle, WA 1-31-99, some years after the BNSF merger.

The BN 4106 was never relettered or repainted for BNSF. It was retired and sold for scrap 3-25-02 almost making it to 20 years of service but lasted just 19. While a number of other BN B30-7A's were resold to shortlines but the 4106 was not and was instead scrapped.
